INSOLVENCY & RESTRUCTURING PRACTICE

The Insolvency and Restructuring Practice Group specializes in advising and assisting various stakeholders in relation to companies undergoing insolvency resolution process under the newly formulated Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (“Code”) as well as corporate restructuring. As a part of this practice area, the Firm has acted on behalf of the resolution applicants, resolution professionals as well as creditors. The Firm has also advised the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India and Ministry of Corporate Affairs for effective implementation of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

The practice involves representation before concerned courts/ tribunals/ regulators/ associations. This practice group comprises of individuals who have a strong background in structured finance and litigation. The Firm’s insolvency Group has also advised its clients on restructuring transactions both as part of the Corporate Debt Restructuring (CDR) mechanism under the aegis of the Reserve Bank of India as well as through bilateral arrangements between parties outside the CDR mechanism.

The Firm has extensive experience in handling winding up proceedings, both voluntary as well as through Court orders.
